"Pete Cluckington and the Others by Melody Monroe is an interesting and educative children's book with many lessons. The story also calls out to parents because biases and discrimination occur either deliberately or unintentionally in our everyday lives. This book talks about the preconceived notions we tend to have about others, even before getting to know them. It looks at how we couldn't be more wrong by stereotyping people. Melody's storyline is unique, approaching this great lesson from the viewpoint of animals. The illustrator, Ginger Triplett, did an awesome job by using attractive colors that appeal to the eye. I loved that the story was simple, easy to follow, and exceptionally edited. Every parent and child should read this book. Lastly, hate isn't innate but acquired, and we can do without it."

"My hat is off to this author who put together a splendid story for children. Children are being bullied constantly; and there is a need for differences in races, creeds, and religions to be addressed on levels of understanding for young children. The book is an exceptional tool for addressing stereotypes among children."
